2014 Shanghai International Luxury Living and Furnishing Exhibition (LuxeHome Shanghai)
was held at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) on June 5- 7, 2014 Shanghai.
This fair will gather excellent home design products from various areas home and abroad
and create a home visual feast with the theme “JOY FOR LIFE”. As the first city enjoying the
title of “design capital” in China, Shenzhen gathered a vast array of native original companies
of home design in this feast. This year’s Shenzhen Pavilion was hosted by Economy, Trade
and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, and co-organized by Shenzhen
Foreign Economy & Trade Service Center and Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession
Association (SIDA). SIDA led 30 Shenzhen original design teams, including such famous
home design companies as Bbeigo, IXISM, Hausgebrauch and Luofeike, and 80 stands
to participate in this years LuxeHome Shanghai.
Holistic Design Instead of Individual Design
A good design is like a poetry about life. It leads you to a state of meditation along with a feeling
of joy and pride. There is no lack of wax and wane in a world of Internet. It is this unique
disposition of Shenzhen that entrances numerous outstanding designers who, draw their inspirations
from it and convey to us an idea of life in a distinctive style.
Design is not the working scope of the individual designer, but a “project” which affects the operating
system of the whole society. From design to the completion of the product, it entails the participation of people and resources from different fields, thus forming a holistic operating mode. The “holistic”
quality of design enables us to complete the fantastic “link” between resources, between people,
and between people and business. It is design that touches the consumer and makes it possible
for the user to interact with the product.
On the first opening day of 2014 Shanghai International Luxury Living and Furnishing Exhibition,
Shirley Feng, Executive Vice-president and Secretary General of SIDA, appeared at the fair in
person to offer encouragements. She stated, as a “design capital, Shenzhen is also a city imbued
with commercial opportunities. Excellent home designers gathered here and combined design
perfectly with commerce and formed an atmosphere of design culture “Design · Link” with Shenzhen
characteristics, and it is also the theme of Shenzhen Pavilion at 2014 Shanghai International Luxury
Living and Furnishing Exhibition.
One home design product after another conveying the concept of “Design · Link” was presented
before exhibitors home and abroad. Between the blink of time when information was exchanged over
the exhibitions, it realized not only the internal link within the city of Shenzhen, but also the link
between different cities, even countries.
“Design · Link” with Humanistic Care
At the fair, visitors witnessed an array of home design products with a cultural ambience of
Shenzhen design. Among them, the silica gel table lamp “paper”, a 2014 Red Dot Design Award
Winner, rose into favor with lots of exhibitors, who stopped and appreciated this unique work from
Shenzhen Luofeike Culture Co., Ltd. Emphasis on humanistic care was one of the characteristics
of this table lamp. Taken user experience, for instance human health, into consideration, it used
the environmental-friendly and nontoxic silica as its material.
It is worth noting that show “humanistic care” is a common nature of all the exhibitions of Shenzhen
Pavilion. Product designers linked the design of daily home appliances, household items and digital
entertainment terminals with the wisdom of life, created user-friendly home design products with
humanistic care, making them warming “partners” instead of “cold” goods. This concept of linking
people with humanistic care makes people’s life more colorful and beautiful.
This “paper” silicon LED lamp from Luofeike employed diversified materials like silicon and metals.
With an integrated molding process, it won Red Dot Award this year.
This creative gate-shaped Bluetooth Speaker Lamp from Bbeigo integrated
the functions of Bluetooth audio and energy saving lamp.
“Simple Life Log Aroma Diffuser” from Hausgebrauch creates a optimal space atmosphere with
minimal energy and keeps the indoor humidity at an ideal level, particularly suitable for autumn and winter.
This “Bud-shaped creative fashion minimalist chandelier” was created by designers from IXISM.
It abandoned the tenderness of the flower and retained the beauty of the bud. A full spread of
petals conveyed the splendor and passion of the heart.
At 2014 Shanghai International Luxury Living and Furnishing Exhibition, Shenzhen Pavilion
presented a distinctive design feast to lead people into a world of “Design · Link” and let them
experience this unique design capital as well as the various warming interpretations of designs
with humanistic care.
